Misato Autumn Leaves Tour
Momiji-kaido Road in Sakedani, Hikari Inari
Located slightly on the Akana side of Sakedani (Hikari) Hachiman-gu Shrine in the Sawadani area, it is lit up according to the season of autumn leaves.
The row of trees on the County Highway 166 line stops passers-by.
Water was stretched in the rice field at the back, and the maple leaves were reflected upside down. Even in the daytime, the contrast of yellow, red and orange is wonderful.

Sakedani Hachimangu Shrine [Hikari Hachimangu Shrine]
A historical ginkgo trees of Sakedani Hachimangu Shrine.
The large ginkgo tree, which is several 100 years old, about 30 meters tall and 5.18 meters around the trunk, turns yellow and can be seen even from the County Highway 166 line.
Since 2015, the light-up has been started according to the season of autumn leaves.
It is very divine to see it in the flooded rice field.
The upside-down ginkgo trees in the daytime are also reflected in the blue sky on sunny days, and it is worth seeing.

Sakedani orochi-katsura tree <Shimane prefectural designated natural monument>
It is a large tree that is about 500 years old and consists of 8 large and small branches including a maximum branch circumference of 2.9m. The entire tree has a trunk circumference of 9.85m, a tree height of 19.2m, and branch lines of 29.5m from east to west and 25.7 m from north to south.
It's a big tree from the County Highway 166 line it feels bigger when looked from down.
Looking up from the bottom, the tree is called Sakedani orochi-katsura tree because the 8 branches look like the Orochi with its head raised.
It is close to Sakedani (Hikari) Hachimangu Shrine.

Japanese maple at school <Shimane prefectural designated natural monument>
The tree is about 150 years old, 3.1m around the breast height, and tree height of 10m.
Located on the site of the former Sawadani Elementary School, this tree, which has sent off many students, is loved by local residents and many graduates as an Acer palmatum of the school.
Also, these huge trees of Acer palmatum are rare, and you will be overwhelmed when you see them.

Kasubuchi - Mountains from the Gonokawa River
From the Gonokawa River riverbed below Jodo-ji Temple, you can see the beautiful scenery of the old Sanko Line railway bridge and the autumn leaves of the mountains.
The picture was when it was the most beautiful in recent years, taken in 2012.
When the flow of the river is calm, the Gonokawa River becomes a mirror and brings out the mountains.
It is also recommended to take a leisurely walk in the town of Ohara (Kasubuchi), the Ginzan-kaido Road!

About 5 minutes' walk from the photo, we recommend you to try our Kaiseki cuisine (reservation required) at the "Kiyutei" inn「亀遊亭」on the riverside of Gonokawa River that was the headquarters of the end of the Edo period.
Noma Unkai Viewpoint
There is a view point of the sea of clouds a little from Noma Kanko Chestnut Farm to Mt. Sanbe.

The best season is autumn when there is a big difference in temperature, and it spreads in the early morning when the temperature is low the previous day and the weather is fine and there is little wind.
It depends on the day, but if you are lucky, it will look like shown in this a picture!
In the daytime, you can see the autumn leaves in the mountains and the scenery of the mountains.
There are narrow roads, so please be careful when you come by car.

Yugakai River
Along the Yugakai River, near the Nakamura Inn中村旅館in the back, there are many maple leaves, the gradation of trees and leaves is beautiful, and the fallen leaves are colored with yellow, orange, and red.
It is quiet, and the sound of the water and the river and the fallen leaves flowing in the river is soothing.
See also Iwami Ozangama kiln. Ceramic art gallery Moriyama is a nice old Japanese-styled house. They exhibit and sell works. Also, enjoy "Art Koubou ♥ Petit" nearby, where you can make wax flowers if you make a reservation.
Autumn leaves of Myoyo-ji Temple
Myouji-zakura is the scientific name of one of the Shimane Prefecture's natural monuments, and the autumn maple trees of Myou-ji Temple can be seen from along Route 375.
It is located about a 20 minute walk from Katsurane Hachimangu behind the former JR Sanko Line Hamahara Station.

Yanaze Oji Jinja Shrine
Approximately 15 minutes walk from the former JR Sanko Line Iwami-Yanaze Station.
It is located near the curve along the prefectural road No. 40.
There is a large gingko tree in the precinct, and the sunset that you can see from this precinct in the mountains of Gonokawa River and the red Kurihara-bashi Bridge lights the precinct romantically.
You can take as much Ginkgo Nut as you like. Please help yourself.
Around Shiki-bashi Bridge
Along the national road 375, from the former JR Sanko Line Ushio Station to the Kasubuchi direction, the section from the canoe club of Chuo High School to the Tsumisaka tunnel is the recommended autumn leaves point!
The Gonokawa River becomes a mirror, and when there is no wave, the autumn leaves of the mountains are projected.
Also, the fog at this time of the year becomes a fantastic landscape. That is also a recommended point.
Former Sanko Line Ushio Station
The autumn leaves of the former Sanko Line Ushio Station.
During the cherry blossom season and the autumn leaves season, there are many people who come with their cameras.
In Miho Shrine between Ushio Station and the Ushio Power Station, there is a big maple tree.

An outstandingly beautiful ginkgo tree is visible from the road along the Gonokawa River and from the red Tsuga Ohashi Bridge.
Approximately 20 minutes walk from the former JR Sanko Line Iwami-Tsuga Station.
Nearby, there is Cafe Green Roadカフェグリーンロードat Roadside Station Green Road Daiwa, where you can have lunch and stroll along with the autumn leaves of Matsuo-yama Hachimangu Shrine and the Gonokawa River.
About 8 minutes by car from here is Ceramic Workshop Kujira陶芸工房くじら(reservation required), where you can also experience pottery.

Banryu-kyo
Banryu-kyo is a typical scenic spot in Hinomiya area.
Banryu-kyo is beautiful with fresh greenery in spring and summer and autumn leaves in autumn.
There is a suspension bridge and a gentle promenade. Enjoy a leisurely stroll while enjoying the beautiful view of the rocks and trees.

Tanohara Viewing Spot
The red color of the Tsuga Ohashi Bridge shines through the mountains, the streets and Gonokawa River. Daisen-Oki National Park Mt. Sanbe can be seen from the top.
There are times when you can see the sea of clouds in the early morning in autumn.
There is also Azumaya (arbor) at the first observatory and the observatory at the top.
There is a sign near the exit of Ryogoku Tunnel near Misato-cho.
